Stage Fright

I've been toying with writing a blog for awhile now.  Every time I experienced something or read something, a post would start in my head.  Ideas would flow - on the subway, before drifting off to sleep at night, grocery shopping (without children).

But now that I've taken the plunge and started the blog, my brain's gone silent.  There are no words.  Is there such a thing as "blogger stage fright?"  I think I've got it.

There we go - first post done.  Surely it'll get easier now?

  1. Know the feeling. I can only offer a nugget of comfort. Once I wrote a post about baking parchment which I felt the urge to write, but which I thought no one would find in the least bit interesting. It's been my most consistently read post. Baking parchment. Just write what you feel moved to write, don't give a monkeys what anyone thinks, and you'll be grand!
Congratulations on post no. 1, by the way.

  2. You found me!

I felt weird advertising it on your blog. Though I just posted my second post and thought I'd come by to tell you I'd jumped :)

    Thanks for the advice. x

  3. My most popular post was about tea... For me the key is writing for me and not an imagined audience and then if other people like it / comment that's a bonus x I've not been at it long, but I love it.

    1. I think you're right - writing loses authenticity if you're self-conscious. Thanks for visiting!
